Thank you to the 130 participants who attended the seminar and received an application.

A special thank you to the 6 applicants who arrived early and volunteered to help at the sign-in tables. :)

If you missed the meeting on Sunday.  You will not receive an application unless you have made prior arrangements with us.

To waitlisted students

The waitlist will be kept for 9 months and you will be contacted to fill any vacancies we might have after processing the 100+ applicants.

There are still 120 students on the waitlist.  We may contact you to get further information from you.

Please do NOT contact the organizer or the office for your waitlist position.  

If you were waitlisted on 4/8 at 6:30am, you are now 35+ on the waitlist.

If you were waitlisted on 4/8 at 12:00pm, you are 100+ on the waitlist.

We handed out 130+ junior applicants in this round.  And there are 120 students on the waitlist.  It is unlikely we will have another round of recruitment until Spring 2014.  Please consider other volunteer opportunities.

Application Seminar

The El Camino Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting a Junior Application Seminar for students interested in joining our Auxiliary at our Mountain View and Los Gatos sites.  The seminar for both sites will be held

10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m.

El Camino Hospital -- Mountain View

Ground Floor - Conference Rooms E,F,G

In this seminar, the Directors of Junior Auxiliary will explain the application process and hand out application forms to registered students.  Parents may not attend or pick up applications for their child at the seminar.

Requirements

Students must be at least 14 years old to apply.  Students who will be high school seniors in the fall will be considered provided they are ready to volunteer this summer.   Students completing eighth grade are also eligible to apply.

Junior membership requires a commitment of at least one year or 100 hours of service.  The El Camino Hospital Auxiliary does not offer summer programs or programs lasting less than one year. Volunteers with 3 or more unexcused absences within a year may be asked to resign.

Acceptance into the program is based on completed applications, teacher recommendations, service openings, and schedule match.  Not all seminar attendees who later submit an application will be accepted into the program.

Shifts are typically between 3 to 3.5 hours on alternate weekends AM/PM or 2 hours weekly in the late afternoons or early evenings - weekday or weekend.

Registration

Registration opens on Monday April 8 at 6:00am and closes on Wednesday April 17 at 4pm.  We will accept 80 participants for Mountain View site and 50 participants for Los Gatos site.  Please sign up for one site only.

You will have 5 minutes when you sign up to complete your registration.  You will be prompted for Name, Email, Phone, School, Grade.

You may return at any time to modify or cancel your registration.  Keep in mind there will be a waitlist. Once cancelled, you may or may not be successful in signing up again.

What if I'm not available on the day of the event?

If you wish to volunteer but are unable to attend the event, you must register first and then contact the event organizer via this website within a day after you register.  Special arrangements will be made with you.  If we did not get your email within one day of your registration, and you fail to show up for the event, you will not be eligible to receive an application form.
